Ordering

When ordering a cake from Sweet Green Icing.  All requirements will be discussed, such as date required; style of cake; flavour; any allergens (see Allergens); size of cake required; delivery or collection (See Delivery/Collection).

An email will be sent with full order details and price.

 

Payment terms

If happy to proceed a 10% non-refundable deposit is required, prior to the booking being confirmed.  This can be paid by cash or BACS.  If no deposit is received within 5 days, the order (and date) will be cancelled, and the date will be made available for another order.  The remaining balance being due prior to delivery (Cash or BACS), or upon collection (Cash or BACS, receipt will be required).  Apologies no cheques PayPal, or card machine.

 

Delivery / collection

DELIVERY – I am happy to deliver locally free of charge (within 4 miles of Garvestone).  I do however need to charge for further afield deliveries (price depending upon where to and travel time needed).

COLLECTION – Will be from my home in Garvestone.  Cake will need to be kept cool during transportation and in the box provided.  It is advised that the cake to be on a flat surface, i.e. footwell or boot of the car.  Advice will be given upon collection.  No responsibility will be taken by Sweet Green Icing for damage during transportation upon collection.

 

Storage of cake

Only buttercream covered cakes can be stored in the fridge (if necessary).  Do not put fondant covered cakes or sugar flowers/models in the fridge.
If refrigerating a butter creamed cake, let it come up to room temperature prior to cutting.  If refrigerating a cut butter creamed cake, ensure the ‘cut’ part is covered with cling film or tin foil, otherwise the cake will become dry.
Keep all cakes cool and away from direct heat, strong light and any damp.
Further guidance will be given upon collection or delivery.

 

Allergens

As I work from my own home kitchen.  I am unable to claim that there are no allergens present.  All 14 major known food allergens are present in my kitchen.  These are, as stated by The Food Standards Agency (2014)
Celery, Cereals containing gluten, Crustaceans, Eggs, Fish, Lupin, Molluscs, Mustard, Nuts, Peanuts, Sesame Seeds, Soya, Sulphur dioxide (sometimes known as sulphites).
I will however endeavour to work with any dietary requirements, such as Vegan/Vegetarian; Dairy Free; Lactose Free; Diabetic/Reduced sugar; Gluten Free.

 

Cancellations / Date change

If the unexpected happens and you need to change the date.  If I have 7 days notice, there will be no extra charge.  The date change will however be dependent upon availability for that date.  The 10% non-refundable deposit will not be refunded if I don’t have availability.
If in the unlikely event that Sweet Green Icing needs to cancel the booking a full refund will be given for any deposit / monies paid.

 

Complaints

In the unlikely event you are unhappy with the cake, please contact me straight away, to enable me to rectify (if possible).
Photographic evidence will be required to support any complaint.
I endeavour to respond to any complaint within 24 hours.

Each cake is bespoke, made to order and as such are individual pieces of art.

Design misinterpretation cannot be rectified later.  It is Important you understand what is being made and ask as many questions as you need to.  I will ensure a full and detailed description of the cake and decoration (often accompanied with sketches) is provided via email at the ordering stage.
